The Hare worked his socks off to set up 1495, so we may forgive him for not coming up with Wurdz just yet.

Bangers organised his Bowling Club - and I say "his" advisedly - to receive us as the base for a guided tour of Dunstable, followed by a two course lunch (he supplied kitchen staff - Rubber Duck, Sara and Major Jon - and requisitioned a bartender just for us) followed by a games afternoon on his hallowed turf.

When we arrived he was repairing the grass after a badger attack, there were 3 separate games (Bowls, Target Bowls and Croquet) and when we left he was still packing up after us. I didn't know him 25 years ago when he was a mere 60 and can only imagine what sort of dynamo he was then.

To add a little perspective he had to use a bicycle to carry out his Lone Hare duties so he's not Superman. And he can take no credit for the unexpectedly fine weather, that was of course down to RA Rapid Withdrawal.

All in all a superb day for most of us and even better for Golden Globes who won the Target Bowls Challenge - someone said for the third successive year. Well done Globes.

ON ON to Sutton and another Hare who puts the effort in.
