We now have words for 1481

The GM delivered a few witty extracts from his compendium of jokes, Lady P gave out the birthday hats for today's Hare a future birthday Gorjoyce who we all love dearly. All the usual safety announcements briefed then On out of the car park.

The pack took off, mostly downhill! with a numbered hook back well done Depth Charge & Rapid. Into a small copse where Forking found his lost car. We navigated the Lavender fields with more hook backs well done Minja turtle & the Newbie, Depth Charge ever reliable! Then a steady climb back up the hill another hook back, once again well done Depth Charge who will soon hit his 10km or 12.000 steps based on a 2.5 feet stride length. However, a disappointing refusal from Forking, the bases for his missdemeanor later on (being blinded lack of glasses) onto a held check at the top of the hill. Shortcut for some with an option for a cheeky finisher at this point a very red faced Subby showed up with lots of anxiety (stories) over Oscar & lost keys. Hopefully, completing a planned figure eight run before the On Inn, in front of The Wilbury pub in 1 hour 10 minutes.

Lavender was introduced to the UK more than 2000 years ago by the Romans who valued its antiseptic qualities, using it on battle wounds, and these properties also led to it being used widely to help protect people from the Great Plague in 1665. However, the Egyptians used it 2500 years ago & Tutankhaman had some in his tomb. It has been grown in the Hitchin area since the 16th century the town's pharmacies developed a great reputation for their lavender-based medications and products. HRH Queen Victoria visited these fields the resulting product was so good that, in 1851, Queen Victoria's train actually stopped at Hitchin so that he could present the Queen with a bottle of essential oil.

Back at the INN after our leisurely run/walk, we had plentiful down downs, 5 Misdemeanors; Forking, Depth Charge, Cyclopath, Ninjaturtle, Knobber. 2 Birthdays Pecker, Gorgoyce also some updates on our up & coming future events.

On On... Pecker, Knotch & OutBack (Tia)

Don't forget our next trail is a Treasure Hunt on Sunday at 11am from Catch It and Claptraps
