Bangers has followed up his first Lincolnshire winner (1446) with another smash hit.
Arriving 3 days early for the run was an uncontroversial plan and gave the group some sound pre-lube opportunities. Shakesbys in Horncastle and The West Ashby Arms – with an extra order of scotch eggs – provided excellent meals. The countryside around Tetford gave us good walking and a fine lunch in South Ormsby.
The rain came on Saturday evening as if to echo Rapid's tears having watched Watford's part in a record breaking FA Cup Final. It also scuppered plans for croquet and BBQ. The Barbie moved inside, where Knobber offered free use of his private toilet facilities to all, and croquet was replaced by an exhibition of feet only banana peeling and other jolly japes under the guidance of Capt'n F.
Plans for Sunday's run changed as well with the trail reverting to Poachers Hideaway and in fact not leaving it. It was ideal and culminated in Mrs Bangers becoming Rubber Duck (I know you shouldn't have to explain these things but it's all to do with Bridge).
The whole weekend was ideal, immaculately organised and in such a lovely, relaxing setting. Well done and thanks Bangers 'n' Madge, Rubber Duck and Millispeed.
