You must believe The Count on three counts:

First, it was Atomic Titten, H5's favourite German export, who had the idea to centre R*n 1463 on the site of RAF Tempsford, the secret airfield from which supplies and agents were sent to occupied Europe during the Second World War.

Second, it was the same Atomic Titten who insisted on selecting the longer Trail B over The Count's preferred Trail A thereby adding 20 minutes to the R*n Time.

Thirdly, Atomic was right on both counts. Gibraltar Farm barn proved a memorable and moving tribute to combatants in a conflict from another era and well worth checking. And under a Clear Blue Sky on a day warming up for the hottest ever recorded in a UK Winter, the trail was a wonderful way to clock up some steps and see countryside new to H5.

It seems certain that 1463 was our first time at The Thornton Arms, and a search of the Receding Hareline Archive reveals no mention of Everton. So it's unlikely we've previously used the trail through Woodbury Park, down Woodbury Sinks to Bottom Farm and on to a Jelly Baby Stop at Gibraltar Farm, before climbing the Greensand Ridge via Oliver's Rest to return to the Thornton Arms.

The Hares were gratified to see a fine turnout for such an easterly location, and especially Ringer, The Rapids and Bangers from the Wild West: but also visiting Wimp and Calamity from equally wild Cambridge, Lost Cause (looking anything but) and an H5 record 7, yes seven, Mutts.

In keeping with modern tradition your correspondent has no recollection of why down-downs were awarded to Golden Globes (excessive clothing?), Captain Fantaaaastic (excessive joke reading?), Ringer (excessive smugness?) or Clap Trap (excessive anonymity?) but has used brackets to risk guesses.
