Capt F and his Hashit collection

We ran from Lilley Arms, Lilley in glorious sunshine thanks to the RA. There were quite a few 'serious' walkers milling around the pub, but they made a sharp exit as more and more hashers arrived. Nik Nak rolled up and we were ready to set off with 3 mutts and an ankle biter.

There was a short path then on through a horsey field. Along the edges were little brave snowdrops. A sign of lighter times ahead. There was enough snow for Clap Trap to see the footprints of hungry rabbits or hares having eaten the slight pink circles and arrows marking the trail. Clap Trap now has evidence of what is eating the marks. Maybe we shall see pink bunnies in the spring?

The trail headed up a gentle slope and finished with a slightly steeper incline. A few runbacks were upheld. No cheating on this run!! Ahead was the remains of the maize used to shelter the peasants during the shooting season. Pheasants are safe in the fields now!

We continued past the woodland and the snow was still crisp and even. The sun had started to make an impact and shiggy kept the runners slipping along.

There was a shortcut, but the Hare suggested it was a bit treacherous, so we only had one taker. She made it safely, escorted by the brave Pecker. He ran down the hill and up again to find the runners trail. A bit like the Grand Old Duke.

We then had the oldest swinger in town Forkin and if I believe the photo, Depth Charge had a swingalong too.

It was downhill from there on and back to the pub for refreshments and cakes. The teas and coffees were beautifully served on trays, with chocolate wrapped in gold! Great pub accompanied by Leroy's music. Lady P was enthralled.

We ventured outside in the sunshine, as fellow walkers arrived in droves into the pub and it got a bit crowded.

The RA tried the music theme and downdowns were awarded. Such punishment. Hashits handed out by Captain F. His reasoning one is never quite sure of. Purple sprouting hat for showing a bit of leg?
