Short Wurdz for a Long Run
A long trail was what the Hash wanted. A long trail it got. There aren't too many options to lay anything less from the Green Man, decent pub though it is. So we decided to head east towards Broom, and the Bedfordshire coast along the River Ivel.
After a brief sortie towards Southill, it was back down a footpath across a field of stubble turnips and back to the main road. Once safely across, the trail crossed the rec and headed for Broom. Despite the FRBs shuttling front and back, the pack became elongated and some returned to the pub to prepare the afternoons fun [is a new breed of super knitting circlers evolving ... ed].
Those continuing found the trail to the photo stop at Jordan's Mill before following the coastal path along the Ivel and back into Stanford and the Courage beers at the pub.
Even the RA struggled to pick anything out of the run, except for Screamer, who is just downright naughty.
The Green Man staff put on some excellent food for us, and Blow Felt and Globes had prepared a brilliant afternoon of quizzes and games. In the opening round of ping-pong ball associated games, Knobber was well beaten by Bangers precision measured drops from knees to cup. Smiffo and Screamer flipped glasses and there was another ball game along the way. WWW and WW brought newbie Phoebe along as did Blow Felt his bingo calling equipment. It was good to see Wimp again, and Good Head picked up her Deca Mug. A brilliant afternoon, thanks to Blow Felt and Globes, and all who came along.
