THE HARE AND LOVELY ASSISTANT ...

SMIFFO MARKS HIS TERRITORY AND HIS BIRTHDAY ...

SAS IS NAMED

I dunno about the rest of the hash but when 5-Baaah announced, in the middle of a circle in the middle of a housing maze on the edge of Luton that it would be an "urban run", my heart sank just a tad.

As it turned out it was a delightful run, well crafted, perfectly laid - as Pongo might have said "the best urban run I've been on this year", had he been on it of course - which hardly went out of Luton but found hills, woods, lanes, a stream and various types of greenery between, around and in People's Park and Wardown Park. Now if he had just sent some Wurdz I could have said "well done" to The Hare and his lovely assistant. But as it is he loses 2 marks .. 7/10 for effort.

The other mark lost because for some reason the miserable pub, serving food as it does in the middle of a housing estate, doesn't want kids inside. Obviously last time we go there, but the superb weather that assistant RA Big Blouse laid on meant we could stand outside and witness the naming of SAS (apparently he comes up on you silently) and the ritual humiliation of a pillar of the hashing community for the alleged crime of distributing the entire H5 accumulated fund amongst the needy of Eversholt. Chap deserved a medal if you ask me. Underlay received her 300-run award and jolly good she would have looked putting it on and surely would have had the air been a little warmer. Young Smiffo had a birthday downdown.

Many thanks to White Rabbit for arranging cheese & bickies.
