WARD 10 INVITES GENERALLY FECKING WORN OUT TO SING IN THE RAIN ..

POSING AT THE QMT ..

AIRSCREW HARE ..

LADY PEE, BIRTHDAY AGAIN

After spending 2 hours on Sunday laying the trail around Hitchin, I was rather miffed when it poured with rain over night! I returned to Hitchin at 5.30 pm and under a light drizzle, worked my way around the trail relaying what had been washed away.

At 7.30 pm, the Hash gathered and was told that G-String and Skid Mark were ill, so unable to join us. With a pre-made map, Donut was nominated as the rear hare. The trail led out of the pub car park and along the ring road path towards the Three Moorhens pub. The front-runners were welcomed by a 6 to the back check, which wasn't too much of a surprise. The trail then led down hill into town to a bar check, which was followed by an up hill towards the church. At the ladies check the pack checked all routes before Bell End led the pack down a path and onto Stonehouse Lane. At the end of the lane was a 4 to the back check and to make things worse the heavens started to open.

A check at the BT Exchange gave the pack 4 options - obviously, it was straight up the very steep slope of 'Windmill Hill'. The rather energetic WWW, My Little Pony and Capt F made it very quickly to the summit but found themselves staring at a 'U' check - an arrow pointing back down the hill. They made the way back to the rest of the pack who were crossing towards the View Check', once rested and everybody had admired Hitchin from up high, the pack was led along a path to a bar. The trail moved into the woods and down to the Theatre car park. The pack had photos taken and it was on on across the car park towards the railway station. At the next check, smells from the Curry house were making everybody feel hungry, especially Overflo.

With 3 falsies checked, the pack proceeded along Verulam Road to a 6 to the back check and even WWW decided it was one back check too many and rested. The pack then made its way up Whinbush road and into the Sainsbury's car park under a continuing blanket of rain. On the other side, there was a ladies check and another Curry house - Overflo reiterated the act of torture I was bestowing on him. The pack sensing they were near the town centre headed towards the pub, but the trail led them away and on to a loop around the town to the Lido. With the pack altogether, the trail went past Waitrose and behind Woolworths to the top end of Tilehouse Street and the On Inn.

Down Downs were awarded to returnee Generally Feckin Wornout, Lady P (Birthday), Hares Donut and Airscrew. The RA then proceeded with dishing out down downs to various member of the circle who were either talking or playing with themselves.
