A weekend away in Devon meant I wasn't able to lay the trail until Monday afternoon - a great excuse to escape the office an hour early!

I made a quick detour to Tesco, only to discover that they didn't sell Jelly Babies - so no Jelly Baby Stop tonight! Arrive at the pub - just as it starts to rain! I blame the RA and then get on with laying the trail. Thankfully the rain passes after half an hour or so.

The trail was about 3 1/2 miles, plus falsies - and a few numbered checks to keep those over-eager FRBs (Pooper and G-String) satisfied. The trail headed out behind Old Knebworth, with the veteran Shagpile finding the right trail across across a field of rather damp crops. From there the trail lay to the South West, heading down the hill towards Codicote where a numbered check sent the FRBs back up the slope to find knitting circle. During the wait Shoot and Skidmark provided the entertainment with a demonstration of compliance with local no-fouling regulations.

From there it was back up the slope, pausing briefly to admire the view. Flo and Skidmark then set out from the ladies' check, finding the trail back along the road. From there it was off across more fields and into the woods. Not long after the on-inn was sighted and soon the hashers were in the pub and enjoying some splendid ales.
