Well it was time for the second instalment of the rekindled Thirst New Moon hash. The thing I remember most about the run was the cold. Laying the trail on a Friday morning at 7:00am in 2 degrees Celsius (36ish Farenheit for us old uns) had taken its toll and the cough that I had been fighting off for the last week or so finally won the battle.

I had not finished laying the trail by 8 and I had to go off to see my dentist for my bi-annual check-up, so the trail was abandoned half finished. Still there would be plenty of time to complete the trail that evening and with hopefully enough time to peel some spuds and prick some sausages before the hash assembled.

Fortunately Tarzan got home real early so she was able to help with the peeling of the spuds. Thanks darling!!!

Fat Controller phones up so say he is running late so could we possible delay the start of the run. Something about Kisses having spent longer than anticipated at the hair dressers and this had put them behind schedule.

The TNM oldsters Pecker, Paintball, Underlay, Private Parts, Mekon & Splinter and the relative newbies Submissive & Zebedee line up with the total newbies Fat Controller, Fizzie, Frau Krafty Rot, Krista, Lost Cause, Scoobie Doobie Doo ... Shufflecock, Skippy & Split Blox. Apres consisted of Tarzan, Kisses Anytime, Hash Bike & Knotch

The run did set off a tad late, but not quite as late as Fat Controller would have liked as he had still not managed to get changed before we set off. Still an impromptu hold at the first check point enabled him to catch up. Zebedee also experienced a false start when he realised he had set off wearing his jeans instead of his running gear. A quick change and everyone was finally ready for the night time exertions.

One of the problems I have with night running is the absence of any illumination. As my night vision is pathetically poor (actually far worse that my memory) it is actually difficult to report much about the run as I can honestly say that I did not see very much of it.

Anyway I had great fun myself and I hope everyone else did too. The run took about 75 mins and took in most of the beauty spots around Shefford. In particular the stretch along the river Ivel was very scenic (well it is in daylight - honest!). The fabulous Monk sculpture and the Dragon Fly picnic table in Campton Plantation were also notable landmarks.

As a solo hare I am pleased to report that the pack stayed pretty much together and when we got back Inn we were welcomed with a great supper comprising Banger, Mash & beans. Yummy and special thanks to Tarzan for all the hard work here!!

We punished the sinners. They are far too numerous to mention, but there were a few that I do recall: I got a disgusting down-down of some very old out of date beer (2005 or 2007 I seem to recall). The TNM newbies were given down-downs. Lost Cause got a birthday down-down. Zebedee got a down-down for his running attire faux pas. Tarzan got a down-down for being an excellent hostess, Kisses got a down-down for holding up the start of the hash (the new hair style was worth it though J) and Submissive got a down-down because Max was apparently barking in the car and this was annoying our neighbour (apparently she was trying to get some sleep at 9 on a Friday evening L).

On On to TNM run 92 (date, time and venue to be confirmed by Pecker).
